Atlas AIR #1 with Sheng Wen Lo
Sheng Wen Lo (1987, Taiwan) just finished his MA Photography at AKV St. Joost. In his work he analyzes and questioning the contemporary human-animal relationships and attempts to spark off debates. He uses still/moving images, sound, video games and various medium. Sheng has also been working as a scientist, scientific values and methodologies are crucial for his works.
Officially he did a workingperiod on board of the Atlas from 5th May till 2th June. Actually he started already in February. He wanted to know more about the mysterious history of the 'Atlas', a former Polish fishing vessel (1974). Later on he got struck by topics as overfishing and sustainable fishing. Finally he developed a video game around these topics, called: 'TUNA'.
